Plazes.com - Adding Physical Presence to the Web

Plazes lets you keep track of your physical surroundings and those of your friends. With Google Earth, you can tag different locations and give them identities. By searching for a “plaze”, you can find other members in your area, wifi spots and if they´re free, restaurants, hotels, and more. You can also upload Flickr pictures to different plazes and add comments.

They take the highly popular Google Earth and make it more user friendly and applicable to a lot more situations. They combine a bunch of different travel and location sites and put it all into one. They´re already integrating with Netvibes with an easy to use widget, and I´m sure they´ll be mashed up with other services soon.

Will people from other countries want to use this when so few users are on in their area currently? The travel and place websites are overflowing in number, will people even bother to try out one more site?
