Pinkend is a site in which users post news and videos about the fabulous and famous. You can browse through the posted material and see what the latest news is. Pinkend has many categories such as photos, videos, and recent news. You can browse all you want but in order to add your two cents and vote you must register with the site. Once you have registered you can vote on the site’s content as cool (good) or bored (boring). Although all users can participate on the site there are six different levels of users: Queen, Big Brother, paparazzi, Reporter, Observer, and Editor. Each level has different privileges such as more weight in evaluations, access to validation codes, automatic publication, invitations, etc.. Users rise in the ranks due to their activity on the site: how many visits their news receives, comments, votes, etc.. Pinkend is available for six countries at the moment. Pinkend has a very pink interface which is easy to navigate. The gossip is well organized and easy to access. It is great that Pinkend is available in multiple languages so that users worldwide can participate. The different user ranks is a fun dynamic for the community. The rank gives users initiative to do well on the site and adds a power dynamic.
