    Photagr.com - Del.icio.us for Photos

    photagr

If you like del.icio.us but find that the sight leaves something to be desired in terms of photos, check out Photagr.com. Photagr is based off of del.icio.us, but focuses on photos instead of websites. You can save the images you like to access them later, although of course privacy rights prevent Photagr from providing the full-sized image. Like del.icio.us, photos are organized into categories that you can browse through (new, most popular, most saved, etc), or you can browse by tags, link cloud, or users' photos. Since Photagr doubles as a social netork, you can also add friends, and any photos they submit will be displayed on your contact list. The site offers numerous other features: uou can also add the browser buttons, the Firefox extension which lets you search Photagr without leaving the page you're on, and subscribe to the RSS feed to keep up with the latest postings.

    In their own words

"Photagr is a social bookmarking site, inspired by the wonderful site del.icio.us, but geared towards photos. It is a way of creating your own gallery of images found all over the web. This could be a collection of fine art photographs, family photos, icons, or any combination there of. Once on photagr you can then discover images other web surfer's have found and tagged".

Why it might be a killer

Photagr is one of several new photo hybrid websites which base themselves off of del.icio.us. .In theory, it's a great idea which makes it easy to find the best or most interesting photos on the web. The site also offers some cool features and extensions which help you stay on top of new images.

    Some questions

The site is still relatively small, so there aren't many photos. How does the site plan on expanding? They have a long road ahead of them if they expect to be a veritable del.icio.us photo counterpart. The interface is also a little sloppy and could use some cleaning up; not too appealing considering it's a photo website. Also, when you click on a user's name, it doesn't redirect you to their profile; what's going on?
