Particls is, I suppose you could say a SuperWidget for your computer that alerts you as new, relevant content becomes available on the websites, applications, and topics of your choice. You begin by downloading the service and then entering keywords of topics you would like to be informed about, (i.e. “The Middle East”) The results become more relevant as you “grab” stories from the NewsTicker. If you like, you can also format the news updates into a pop-up window that follows your mouse. You can also opt to have alerts sent to your mobile phone. Right now Particls is in private beta but you can view some screencasts to get a feel for the service, unless you were one of the lucky ones to get a private invite.
