Would you like to see a visual representation of where someone is when they update their status on Twitter? GeoTwitterous is a Yahoo Pipe that takes a Twitterer’s declared location and plots it on to a Google or Yahoo map. So if you want to follow someone on a nice map, enter their Twitter username and see their most recent updates along with their location. This is a nice little tool for being able to track the people’s movements that you follow and it helps to give you an idea about where they are or the traveling they are doing. Search for Barrack Obama for example, and you will get an idea of the incredible amount of traveling that he has been doing over the last little while.

In their own words
“Twittervision and Twittermap already offer geo-location tools, and an API for you to set your location: L:place=address[:] store a personal location, L:place[:] set a stored personal location as current location, L:address[:] set an arbitrary location as current location. So here's my offering, a Yahoo Pipe that will have a go at geocoding locations declared in a tweet.”
Why it might be a killer
Twitter is already popular and it continues to grow daily. A cool Twitter application like this one could become very popular with the growing base of Twitter users.
Some questions
As it stands right now, the site is a bit complicated and if they really want this to catch on, they will need to provide layman’s instructions. It is currently a bit confusing for those without a programming background.
