OnTheInside.info - An Insider's Glimpse of NY

OntheInside (OTI) purports to be a ‘personality-driven Insiders city guide’ which really means it’s a sort of e-zine focusing on the lives and haunts of creative, rich, and visible New Yorkers. What you get is a nice, diverse selection of recommendations of places to go, eat, and shop in the Big Apple.

You can search personalities by name or by occupation. You’ll find that Amy Sedaris, for example, moved to NY because of her brother David, and likes to shop at Cobblestones, a vintage boutique. You’ll also find out that filmmaker Salvatore Stabile loves to dine at Café Reggio in Noho. Fascinating, isn’t it. At OTI you’ll get all the inside details you could ever want. And the site has a very cool, hot pink, sans serif magazine feel. The site also has a vivid selection of photos and audio to give it an rounded it out feel. I like OTI, the concept is fairly original and it’s reminiscent of those posh interview magazines, only the content is all about places to go, which is really what everyone wants to hear. We all want to know where the cool places are. OTI is nicely executed and it looks good.

Is OTI too niche? Is the focus too artsy or non-commercial? Will they expand to other less well represented cities (New York's mean done to death)?
