Some have called NowLive “like, Myspace on Crack!” and though stalking.. ehem I’m sorry “socially networking” doesn’t seem to be the main concept of NowLive, it is certainly more geared towards the Myspace demographic (and by that I mean creepy 40 year olds and their histronic teenage counterparts). NowLive is a place for you to broadcast your own radio show. Of course, it is not really going to be sent out on radio waves, but just the same you’ll be reaching a audience from all around the world. You can also use programs like Skype to accept live calls from your audience, guests or cohosts, or chat with them in real time on their integrated text chat. Let your audience carry you with them on their iPod, since LiveNow makes it easy to transfer with their Instant iTunes podcast. Broadcast from your cell phone, build a social network of listeners, and share your pics and vids.

“Due to the overwhelming request from individuals to become featured, we have created a set of guidelines: 1.You must be a registered member at NowLive.com (http://www.nowlive.com/login.aspx) 2.You have to already have started a show at NowLive.com (click the START button on your profile page) 3.You must demonstrate an ability to run a show on a consistent basis (daily, weekly, monthly) 4.We are looking for shows that have a proven following with traffic ratings that are above a typical broadcast for the category. 5.Become active in the community and help us grow NowLive.com”

So it looks like just anybody can create a show, but only certain members can request to be featured as a broadcaster. That’s much different from other broadcasting websites promising to do the same thing, who stick to featuring the latest or the most popular. This space has been filling up, and in terms of how NowLive stacks up to the competition, it seems to lack some features but looks a little bit more “myspacey.” Whether that will win over the crowd or not, time will tell.
| Some questions | |||
|
|
They lack some of the main points that many of their competitors sites highlight, such as being able to archive broadcasts, the use of video RSS and bookmarking features. Will they add these important features, and as well, add a little bit more to their social networking profiles, as they are supposedly the “myspace on crack?”

| Considering the other two comments for this thread are SPAM and they've cut most of their production staff, this internet startup is about to stop. | ||
