NewsBeet.com - RSS for the Masses

    newsbeet

There’s a new trend in the way of RSS and social media gathering—create your own site, with customized feeds, news, and content. Instead of picking and choosing every little feed to consume in a straight, plain reader, create your own media rich news site and make money from it. This is what the fresh-out-of-the-Pligg-box-site, NewsBeet has to offer. You provide the topic, the news you’re interested in, and NewsBeet will create your very own “Beet” or site for you beginning with your RSS feeds. For example, if you’re interested in all things Britney Spears (because, let’s face it, we all are a little bit interested), you can create a “Beet” about Britney. Start with RSS from TMZ, Perez, et al, then NewsBeet will build an entire Pligg-styled site for easy Britney news consumption. They’ll provide the images, video, shopping related items, sounds etc. So where does the money part come to play? Ads, of course. NewsBeet uses Google’s Adsense and Shopping.com . Provide info to them, and you’ll earn revenue for each click on your newsbeets. Simply sign up and submit. It’s that easy.

    In their own words

“NewsBeet is a platform for building your own news site covering any topic or beat you want. It's easy, fast, fun and profitable

Why it might be a killer

NewsBeet’s strength lies in its ease of use and money pitch. User can create sites that matter to them and to others, and they can profit from it. It requires little work on the part of the user, and NewsBeet makes money with more traffic to each individual beet. So there’s an infinite amount of traffic and more dollars coming in. It’s win win

    Some questions

Is NewsBeet profitable? Is it a viable model for people looking for traffic and/or money? What about spreading content beyond the NewsBeet walls and across the web?
