In their own words
"The site lives from the users' engagement and from the belief that on an international level there are no 'mundane' or 'mediocre' photos: The world in all its facets is very well worth seeing and what's 'interesting' is in the eye of the beholder... Whatever the reason for a visit to a place, photos & information from residents and those who know the spot are always welcome, both, to make the best out of a trip and not to miss the secret beauty every location holds... Users may depict their recommendations on MyGreatWorld.com. For tourists. For residents. For friends. Worldwide."
Why it might be a killer
The map-based navigation is unique and gives this photo community a warm, traveler-friendly feel. Users enjoy multiple ways to find photos that interest them (browse the map or search by category, date, etc.) and the optional descriptions and comments written will help posters to identify which spots they recommend or don’t, and where exactly to find those sites, when is the best time to visit, what is the best thing to order from the menu, etc.
Some questions
With no restrictions on how many photos users can upload, will the better photos and recommendations be lost among the masses? Does MyGreatWorld have the server space and bandwidth secured to support rapid and/or extensive growth?
