MyCampFriends.com - Reminisce About Summer Camp

If the best summers of your life were spent reminiscing in front of a campfire, praying for rain so you could get out of your swim period, and making up skits for the talent show with your bunkmates, you might have gone to summer camp. If you're a die-hard camp veteran and want to relive all those amazing summer memories, check out MyCampFriends.

com, a new social networked aimed at reconnected former and current summer campers with all of their friends in the off-season. To get started, sign up and join a camp. Can't find your former summer alma mater? No problem, just let the site know. Just remember that it must be a real camp, as MyCampFriends verifies all entries. Then, you can start reconnecting with your old buddies and swapping stories just like you used to at night across your bunks. The site also offers a ton of other cool features, like the "Camp Nurse", whom you can "visit" to ask camp-related health questions. Or, check out the "Canteen", which provides a list of essential camp media that will help you relive your experience (naturally, the site encourages you to check out the cult classic, "Wet Hot American Summer" and buy James Taylor's greatest hits).

    Mycampfriends.com In their own words

"Welcome to MyCampFriends.com where summer never ends".

Why Mycampfriends.com might be a killer

This site is perfect way for campers young and old to reconnect or stay in touch with their camp buddies. It offers so much nostaligia that I actually almost teared up writing this review, and had to submit my old camp's information to the site. The camp pages are awesome; you can upload photos, swap stories, and even listen to your camp song. MyCampFriends is so spot-on with their references and humor, you'll wonder if the site creators went to your camp too.

    Some questions about Mycampfriends.com

A lot of individual camp websites already have communities. For example, at my former camp, Coniston, you can join forums, upload and comment on photos, message other members, etc. Also, many camps already have communities on sites like Facebook. So, is a site like MyCampFriends worth joining if there are already other means of communicating with your camp pals?
