The portal focuses on providing informational services to small rural communities, and giving small businesses a chance to advertise to their specific communities rather than the normal shotgun approach that newspaper sites use.

The team behind this initiative told me that they have sales people on the ground throughout Missouri, and that they are working to hire 15 more in the next few months. A commendable aspect is that the staff is local to Missouri which allows for a high touch local feel to the services they render.
