MashupCamp.com - Conference for Mashup Developers

Are you a software developer that likes to create mashups? If you are, Mashup Camp is for you. Mashups are the latest, hottest thing for Web-based applications. At least for today. Basically, mashups - as the name implies - take two applications and merge them into some new cool internet tool. For example, if you take your personal data map of biodiesel gas stations in the US and put that on top of a Google map, that would be a mashup of sorts. So, a new annual conference has started to bring Mashup developers together. Called the Mashup Camp and sponsored by all the big guns in the internet world such as Microsoft, IBM, Google, AOL, etc, this camp aims to allow those developers to connect, share, inspire, vent, inform, etc. You missed the 2007 camp, since it just took place last week, but the website will be up and running to let you know what happened at this year's camp and past camps (they also have blog connections). There is also Mashup University, where people can learn how to develop Mashups.

  In their own words

Mashup Camp -- a.k.a The Unconference for the Uncomputer is an unconference-style event that's dedicated to bringing together the Internet software mashup community for a face-to-face collaborative meetup where new relationships are formed, old relationships are nurtured, ideas are shared, mutiple balls are moved forward, and innovation happens in real-time.

Why it might be a killer

Mashups are the latest and greatest craze and show no signs of slowing down. They are a natural part of the internet evolution and this "Mashup Camp" will likely be a starting point to many cool, new application tools.

  Some questions

I found this site to be incredibly rich with information and details. From explaining a Mashup to describing the conference to detailing the history and theory of the camp to archiving the events and discussions of the previous camps, it is quite an impressive site. For maybe the first time, I have no questions about this site.
