Mapness.net is a Google Maps mashup that allows you to create an interactive travel journal for sharing your travel experiences with family and friends. Your Mapness travelogue starts with a Google Map charting your trip, on which you can pinpoint stops made along the way. Anywhere on your route, you can add photos, videos, or written content to share more about where you’ve been and what you’ve seen. Each point marked on your map automatically has its own photo album space created. As with anything viewed through Google Maps, you can toggle between map, satellite, and hybrid views on your Mapness map, and can zoom in or out. Creating a travel journal on Mapness.net is completely free though you must sign up, and based on the information you provide, the site automatically calculates journey stats such as distance traveled and duration.
