LyfeBank.com - The Future Of Healthcare

    lyfebank

LyfeBank is a brand new service that has an interesting objective: switching the ownership of healthcare from the employer to the employee. That is, the company behind it aims to let employees who have access to employer-based healthcare pick the one policy that will suit them best.

The basic premise is easy to understand, and also very easy to agree with – different people need different things, and the one who should choose healthcare has to be the actual employee. A policy which is dictated by the employer is just no good.

LyfeBank’s patent-pending method involves combining health benefit contributions from multiple employers. A method such as this one benefits families with multiple wage-earners as well as individuals with multiple jobs.

As regards employers, the main hook is that their employees can now be scheduled based on business factors, and employers do not have to care about policies for full-time and part-time employees. This makes everybody feel more at ease, since the employee will be minutely-catered for whereas the employer can instill a feeling of loyalty into his subordinates.

All in all, a very convenient service that addresses a common concern and offers a viable take on a traditionally complicated issue. It might revolutionize a tried and tested subject and keep both parties reasonably happy.

    In their own words

“We believe all employers want to contribute to healthcare coverage for all their workers but have been held hostage by the protocols of today's health insurance system. We are offering the marketplace a new opportunity: employer healthcare contributions from multiple employers. No more full-time job requirement, plus health insurance that is portable job to job. We are switching the ownership of healthcare from the employer to the employee. We believe a person or family can best decide which healthcare insurance is best for them... not an employer or our government. We believe money provided by the employer for healthcare should allow the person who earned it to spend it how they want. Previously, if you were lucky to have employer based healthcare, you had to accept the type of policy dictated by the employer. One size fits all. That doesn't work. People are all different. Employees and families have different needs. Healthcare should not be chosen by anyone but you.”

Why it might be a killer

Such an approach has the potential to redefine an issue as sensitive and crucial as healthcare, and answer the common concerns it brings forth.

    Some questions

How is such a system actually implemented? Are there any legal formalities that need to be complied with?
