Environmental sustainability is an important topic and LocalHarvest.org helps you be a responsible, environmentally sound person. LocalHarvest.org contains a great deal of information on sustainability and gives users the opportunity to find local restaurants and farms. When you visit the site the homepage features a map that has the location of restaurants, farms, farm markets, grocery stores and other sustainable organizations. You can zoom in on the map to find the farms and grocery store in your neighborhood. The different locations and farms are color coded and then you can click on the farm to get information on it such as location and contact information. Besides finding organic farms, shops, and grocery stores you can participate in the site's forum and learn about organic topics. The farms have detailed profiles that list the vegetables grown there along with the history of the farm. There is also a calendar on the site so you can see when there are upcoming events, such as fairs. There are interesting articles on the site and the site has a featured product so you can learn about new products when you visit the site. You can learn a lot at LocalHarvest.org and find great farms and grocery store with organic products.

  Why it might be a killer  

LocalHarvest.org has an attractive and busy interface. The site contains a great deal of interesting information that is displayed in an attractive manner. The map is useful to find specific farms and grocery stores and well as the location search. There are many ways for users to discus organic topics. Users can visit the blog and participate in the forum. The calendar of events is also a great feature because it allows users to connect offline. The featured product section is educational and helps expose users to alternative products. The site contains lots of information and is easy to browse through.

  Some questions  

It would be great if LocalHarvest.org included reviews on the farms. LocalHarvest.org could add more Web 2.0 features such as user profiles.
