As with most Web 2.0 startups, ListenArabic has a recently launched social networking element to it that facilitates fandom, networking and community. It resembles an Arabic Facebook complete with gift giving, groups, invites, and profiles. It’s aptly titled Arabicbook. Of course, if you just want some good Arabic music, you can search ListenArabic for popular artists like 4 Cats, Fadel Shaker, or Hossam Habib. You can search by tags, artist, or sample some of the songs on site.There’s also the option tochat, or join the forums to discuss music, trends, and what not. It may not look like much, but ListenArabic is a good way to get in touch with new music and different cultures.
