Keycanada.ca - Online Real Estate Community

Currently in beta mode and restricted to the province of Ontario, KeyCanada is an online real estate community where agents can post properties for sale and interested buyers can get in touch with them and ultimately make a purchase. Anyone can join KeyCanada, however, only licensed real estate professionals can post properties for sale. Rental listings and parking spaces, on the other hand, can be posted by any member of the community. The site allows you to search for properties by either entering the city or Postal Code and results can be filtered by max/min pricing, type of property, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, or by square footage. Property types supported are commercial space, rental properties, parking spaces and residential.

The Canadian housing market has not suffered the same decline as its neighbor to the south making this type of portal one that could succeed quickly. The site is well-designed and searching filters work well.

Why not allow anyone to post their house for sale? It seems like allowing owners to sell directly is one of the great advantages offered by the internet since middle men can be cut out. Also, when will they be expanding to the rest of the country?
