JobsinPods.com - Take Your Job Search on The Road

Finding a job is a full time job in itself, or so they say. In order to make things a tad bit easier, JobsinPods, a sort of internet 2.0 mongrel, in part blog, in part job board, and partly a podcast, takes the job hunt on the road. The site lists job postings and provides audio interviews with the employers themselves. So you get to hear things like what it’s actually like to work at a company, what recruiters look for in the ideal candidate, and what the benefits are. After each podcast which lasts about 10 minutes, listeners will be given all the deets on how to apply for the job. You can subscribe to RSS feeds for any job category and country, and you can also download the podcasts as an Mp3 to put on your iPod. Companies are charged $329 to create 1-5 podcasts. Podcasts are kept online for up to a year.

This is a novel approach to job posting. Companies are given a wider outlet to express their outlook and to induce new candidates to apply; they’re given a way to build up their brand, to give prospective employees an inside glimpse, and to voice their opinions. Job seekers meanwhile are given a better perspective as to what each company has in store. Also, it simply makes job searching more dynamic.

Will they have enough content to keep people coming to the site? Will job seekers find the podcasts any more useful than your standard text based job boards? Will they even take the time to listen to 10 minute interviews?
