Jivesoftware.com - Enterprise 2.0 Software

There are a considerable number of companies seeking to better connect companies with 2.0 applications and one of the leaders in this push is JiveSoftware which is already working with 15% of the Fortune 500. The new Clearspace Community platform allows companies to improve communication and collaboration by leaps and bounds. With rich profiles that include status updates that are much easier to change than Facebook, the ability to find people and not just documents, and easy-to-create dynamically generated organizational charts, JiveSoftware’s newest addition is unparalleled in its reach and scope. Have open conversations and unlock people’s hidden expertise and the ability to build reputations through contributions, the Clearspace Community is THE web 2.0 solution for enterprise.

  In their own words

“Jive Software makes enterprise social software that unites employees and connects them with their customers and partners. Our market leading products, Clearspace and Clearspace Community, use a people-centric approach to facilitate conversations and solve the problems associated with legacy systems. Jive's enterprise software platform is used by more than 2,000 customers -- including over 15% of the Fortune 500 -- to boost collaboration and build communities.”

Why it might be a killer

With an impressive list of early adaptors including Sony and Nike, word of mouth alone should make this a ubiquitous application in offices across the world. The ability to seamlessly integrate with SharePoint, or the capacity to stand alone, make JiveSoftware’s newest development a real Killer in the making.

  Some questions

The ClearSpace Community solution is by no means cheap and smaller organizations may have trouble justifying the cost which starts at $5 per user per month. Will smaller companies opt for one of the free or less pricey 2.0 solutions currently available to coordinate and collaborate?
