    Jamphetamines.com - Indie Music Community

    jamphetamines

Jamphetamines is a social community that lets fans of indie music connect to artists, and vice versa. Sign up for the site and create your personal profile to start networking. Like any social network you can add friends and message to connect with others. Along with the usual contact and personal info sections are video, audio, photo, and friend "shelves", which are sections of your profile where multimedia content is stored (in the case of the friend shelf, it's simply the profile thumbnail of your buddies). In addition to browsing profiles and making new friends, you can also browse the Jamphetamines sites for relavent media (news, videos, audio, photos, etc). All content on the site is user-generated; you can check out which members have posted what and how many times a certain upload has been viewed. All content is tagged to make for better searches. Logically, there are music-related groups on Jamphetamines as well as video channels which you can subscribe to (each one features a different genre of music). You can even sign up for a specific RSS audio and/or video feed, each of which is broken down by popular categories (Most viewed today, most commented on, etc). You can have access to most of the site's features even if you don't sign up, but in order to actually participate in the community via groups, friending, and messaging, you'll need to be a member.

    In their own words

"We are proud to announce that our FREE indie music community is open to the public. JAMphetamines.com is place where independent musicians and fans can network and share their music videos/audio privately or publicly. Feel free to browse around, or sign-up HERE and you can be posting, voting, commenting and more in a few seconds!"

Why it might be a killer

Jamphetamines offers a wide variety of features for anyone interested in the indie music scene. It's easy to stay up to date with what's going on with the site and with artists via the multiple RSS feeds.

    Some questions

Nothing really screams "Indie" or "music" to me here; where are the artists? Where are their pages? Jamphetamines feels somewhat like a vacuum; there's doesn't seem to be a real sense of community (maybe this could be fixed by filling the homepage with the latest indie music news and updates?).
