IRateMyDay.com - Let The World Know How You Feel

    iratemyday

IRateMyDay comes on the heels of the very popular light communications phenomena of mobile social networking sites and Twitter, where brief updates are favored over the rant and essay style picked by many bloggers. With IRateMyDay, members are encouraged to give their day a gradeâ€"good days are given a ‘Great I feel really good,´ while worse days are tagged with a succinct ‘Worst, I feel really bad´. So what really is the point of this? Well, the team at IRateMyDay, wants to put together a visual globalization of feelings. You may right a quick statement about your feelings, but anything more is pooh-pooh upon. IRateMyDay is essentially a snapshot of how the world feels. Currently on the world map of emotion you´ll find that a majority of people on the East coast of the US feel ‘as usual,´ while a scattered bunch in Europe feel ‘worst´. Ratings are color coded for easy perusal. Those who use the site often get ‘experience´ points which enable them access to more features. To rate your day, you´ll need to register; your profile info will remain private, however members of the service will be able to send each other messages; anyone can look at user comments. Interestingly the majority of activity seems to come from males, according to the site stats, and most people seem to be having an as usual dayâ€"‘normal day, work, cook, sleep, ´ ‘Pretty much the same ol" same ol". Still recovering from the 6k walk...darn old bones aren"t the same,´-- while others aren´t so lucky ‘I NOW HAVE PLURESIY ( NOT SURE IF I SPELLED IT RIGHT) BASICALLY IT IS AN VIRAL INFECTION IN MY LUNG. The site is available in French and English, however international scripts are supported.

    In their own words

“This site tries to understand one of the greatest mysteries of human being: feelings. Each day, we experience a variety of feelings; sometimes good, sometimes bad. We try to share them with people who surround us, but that is often difficult.

Why it might be a killer

The concept is interesting on a sociological level; it gives a glimpse of how people feel all over the world quickly. The site also seems to be following the trend of instant, brief communication, a la Twitter, which is huge. Blogging takes too much time; this type of quick blogging delivers fast results.

    Some questions

How is the site going to make a profit? Will it add more communication features, so that members will better be able to contact each other?
