IAte.com - Restaurants Reviewed The Twitter Way

    iate

iAte does something simple and highly useful at the same time: to pull restaurant reviews from Twitter, and present them back to visitors within its main page. The system works in the following way: whenever a Twitter user sends out a tweet where a restaurant is mentioned, iAte imports the tweet and identifies the actual restaurant that has been mentioned. The tweet is then added to the database, and the conversation becomes browseable and searchable by restaurant.

Those who visit the site can see trending restaurants for their area as well as view their eating history, and (most notably) see these restaurants that their friends and followers stop by habitually.

The fact remains that restaurant conversation is moving away from dedicated review sites, and downpouring into spots such as Twitter and Facebook. iAte aims to be the first site to organize this restaurant review content and present it back to the user in a setting that is equally easy to browse and up-to-date. As such, checking it out will not go amiss if you want to ensure you are making the right decisions as regards where to dine out.

    In their own words

    “Restaurant reviews from Twitter.”

Why it might be a killer

The social web is where it is at in terms of updated insight on anything. Dining information is no exception to the rule, and this site exemplifies that.
