    iAccelerator.org - A New Indian Startup Incubator

    iaccelerator

Modeled after the highly-popular YCombinator, iAccelerator is directed by Freeman Murray, and it will be conducted at IIM Amhedabad. It can be best-defined as an intensive startup assistance program which is aimed at those who live in India and who are just making their first forays in the entrepreneurial world.

Participants are requested to live and work from Ahmedabad for a semester (May 1st to September 1st, 2009).The incubator invests up to 5 Lakh in each company they work with, and (as it is the norm with initiatives like this) participants come into contact with industry veterans and connoisseurs. Of course, they also have exposure to investors and those who call the shots.

The ultimate aim of initiatives such as this one is to equip young visionaries with the resources for making their plans not only materialize but also become corporate assets that stand a ground of their own. If you are lucky enough to live in India or can afford to go there when the semester starts, this Incubator might just be what you need in order to get from A to B and some way beyond indeed.

    In their own words

“The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad announces iAccelerator 2009 an intensive startup company assistance program geared towards first time technology entrepreneurs in India. The iAccelerator works with brilliant entrepreneurs to establish well run, technically excellent, profitable technology companies in India. We use our experience setting up companies, our business network and our money to ensure that companies working with us are well formed and have access to the people and information they need to be successful.”

Why it might be a killer

Any initiative that nurtures creative talent is a worthwhile resource in itself.
