You can find any information that you might need for your travels on this site; besides offering the obvious connection to various hostels in various countries in various cities in the regions, you can also everything from photographs to Spanish school locations to ATM information. For users familiar with Lonely Planet, you will find HostelTrail similar in style though more in-depth, as it focuses on only two regions instead of the entire world. The site also is requesting users submissions, so if you've traveled extensively in the region, you can help the site to expand by offering your insight.

HostelTrail will definitely benefit from expansion; I was particularly dismayed by the lack of information about my country, Brazil, considering it is probably the most popular tourist destination in the region. How and when does HostelTrail plan on expanding?

HostelTrail is way more in depth than other generic travel sites, since it focuses only on South and Central America. It took me awhile to write this review because my travel bug started to bite again and I couldn't take myself away from the stunning photos and insightful commentary. If you're passionate about Latin America and are serious about traveling there, this site is a must; it offers extremely useful information that you won't find anywhere other than a travel guide (and the budget traveler certainly does not want to spend extra money on a book when he can get the same information on a website).
