HealthTalker.com - Patients and Providers Hook Up

    healthtalker

There’s nothing worse than that annual trip to the doctor. Afterall, who likes being poked, prodded and then told to eat healthier all the while exercising and taking horse pills that’ll make you better somehow, but you’re not really sure because the jargon was too much. Who then, do you trust when it comes to drugs and other health related products and procedures? For one, you can start at HealthTalker, a Massachussets based startup that aims at making it easier for patients and providers to dialogue and understand each other. It provides a platform for learning more about certain medical products and conditions. It’s a consumer to consumer type site where the user can provide testimonials, dialogue, chat in forums and learn more about their health and what they can do to keep healthy. It’s currently in early invite early stages.

    In their own words

“More specifically, HealthTalker provides companies the opportunity to engage a base of prescription users, and help enable them to have discussions (both on-line and off-line) with other consumers about their experiences of using certain products.”

Why it might be a killer

HealthTalker is a great way to begin the dialogue between health companies and provider and actual patients. It’s informative and helpful without being too technical?

    Some questions

What companies participate and why? How did they choose these companies? Is it biased?
