GlimpseBack.com - Make an Online Memorial

Looking for a unique way to remember a loved one? At GlimpseBack.com they specialize in creating beautiful memorials for those who have passed by providing users the ability to create, customize and post their own — instantly. At GlimpseBack.com you can make an online memorial utilizing Macromedia Flash Player technology. During the BETA, all of the packages are free and you only need to pay if you were to opt for add-ons such as photo tiles. This is an amazing idea to make it possible for loved ones who may be too far to attend the services for whatever reason, to be able to still be involved in the mourning/celebrating/healing process regardless of where they are in the world as long as they have in internet access.

  In their own words

" Welcome to the GlimpseBack.com BETA — It takes a lifetime to create a legacy and less than an hour to post it and to be celebrated for generations to come. Over the past century, technology has given us many ways to record our history, encapsulate moments and document the events of our lifetime. Our hearts and minds are canvased with amazing stories and wonderful memories. GlimpseBack.com brings together the collections of a lifetime — including photos, videos, voice recordings and more. July 3rd, 2007, we began our 90 day BETA. What is a BETA? The term refers to a piece of software or web application that's still being developed. Expect a few problems during the BETA, but enjoy the thrill of being among the first to use a new bit of software. If you don't enjoy the thrill of being one of the first users, wait until the software is "out of" BETA (October 1, 2007). ALL MEMORIAL PACKAGES ARE FREE (during the BETA). GlimpseBack.com invites everyone to participate in the BETA by creating a memorial that will remain on-line for one year, totally FREE of charge."

Why it might be a killer

This is a wonderful service to do for a loved one so people all over the world can see the life they lived and appreciate their unique contributiuons to the world at large. All memorial package and listings are 100% FREE to use at this time, I couldn't see why anyone wouldn't want to use the site in the unfortunate incidence of a loved one passing.

  Some questions

Since ALL of the memorial packages are free for an entire year, I would imagine that most people would go for the top of the line Tribute package with all the bells and whisltes. However it is indicated on the site that they will soon be charging for the site.

A great site. It was easy and enjoyable to create a meaningful, quality memorial about someone special. Now I can share that memorial with loved ones and they can even contribute to the memorial. I am really impressed with the site.

This is a great way to preserve the memory of loved ones and keep them close, especially for kids losing parents, grandparents, etc. They can "visit" anytime they want to and I can see where it would help them through the grieving process. I'm impressed with the quality of the finished product and the ease of use.
