FreshBrain is a platform that aims to let teenagers explore different technology areas, create projects and then show what they have done to others over the web. I find this resource highly interesting, as both open and sponsored projects are featured, and collaborative tasks are actively encouraged.

Projects are listed in the section named “Tech area”, whereas a project of its own can be easily created if you have an idea that is not yet covered by the available categories. Alternatively, you can join any project that is currently in progress. Note that in any case software is available for download online.

On the other hand, if you want to volunteer your services you can always submit your personal information and be assigned as an advisor. You will be briefed on FreshBrain’s tools and processes beforehand, and you will also have to complete a background check.

I think we all agree this is an interesting service any way we look at it. The fact that FreshBrain is a non-profit only makes me respect it even more. I advice you to check the site out with your children, and see how it can help them foster their creativity.
