Something that is as big as Twitter has an inherent power to do good in a huge scale. Sites like Follow4Good lets us explore such a laudable possibility. In general terms, the website turns the process of following others into one which benefits charities the world over. How does that work? Simple: Follow4Good allows companies to get more followers by making a donation to a charity in the event they reach a set number of followers.

The site lets you follow companies which have started using this system, but since it has just launched there are not that many to pick from - yet. If the premise sounds compelling to you, registering your own company is anything but complicated.

As a concept, this is certainly simple yet very well-focused. Now it all depends on the speed at which companies sign up and people start taking to it. Maybe they could offer people some sort of incentives for using it. While I consider that helping out a charity is incentive enough, I do know there are people who always want a little bit more. One way or the other, I must admit I really liked the site and I hope it can gain some recognition.
