Findmore.ca - Canadian Online Classified Community

    findmore

Findmore is a Canadian community site for anyone who wants to do anything, basically. The site is more a less an amped-up online classifieds sites with a social networking aspect. Users create an account (for free), and can trade items, search for an apartment or a job, comment on whatever suits their fancy, and meet other people. To run a search in one of the site's wide variety of categories, you may either use a traditional keyword search or the category menu. You can spice up your user profile to assist other community members in getting to know you better, or open up a discussion in one of Findmore's forums.

    In their own words

"Findmore.ca is helping to create the social web by offering an easy to use, free online
community service to allow users to trade their items, meet others, find an apartment, find a job, share their opinion and much more!

Like you we were fans of eBay and Craigslist, but found the former to be limiting and expensive, while the latter was missing key features to really deliver a proper public service. Our over-arching goal is to provide a more local classified service in Canada".

Why it might be a killer

Findmore could be a great tool for Canadians who want a classified website that only operates in Canada; the site does a good job of keeping it local with its "Calendar" section, where users can post or search for events in their area.

    Some questions

The site has a ways to go before it reaches its claim of being a combination of eBay and Craigslist; the site isn't even ranked on Alexa yet. It's unclear whether users can buy or sell items, or only trade; which exchange options are available? The interface is somewhat mismatched and jumbled; could they clean it up a bit?
