FanPop.com - What Are You a Fan Of?

    fanpop

Fan of sudoku, but not sure where to find others like yourself that may know great sites where you can get free puzzles or info on the latest twist on the puzzle is? Fanpop with help you to find the communities of fans you are looking for with all of the top information, links, and videos related to that topic. There´s a huge range of topic channels, groups existing for lovers of Trader Joe´s to Gmail fans to Lego groupies to the usual movie, TV, and, music fanatics.

    In their own words

“It"s tough to keep up with the world wide web when it keeps getting bigger and bigger each day. Wouldn"t it be great if someone organized the web into topics you care about? We thought so too, so we created Fanpop. Fanpop is the one-stop destination for real people with real passions to find real content and community. Remember when the web was small enough that you could look at a directory of the best sites on the web for a certain area of interest? We missed those days, but felt like the community should be the editors who contribute and decide what the best content on the web for a given topic should be. We like to think of Fanpop as the next generation of portals, what we call "social portals" created for the people by the people. It"s a one-stop destination for fans of anything and everything and the place to find fellow devoted fans. We wanted to make discovering new content fun, easy and social.”

Why it might be a killer

It already has a huge community with a lot of activity. There are so many different kinds of groups that anyone can find one to their tastes. It beats out the typical lonely fan site by grouping everything together so that you can save time by only checking out the best of what´s out there. There are so many niches to be utilized for advertising on the site.

    Some questions

Will people spend the time signing up and participating, versus just simply going to Google out of habit and typing in what they´re trying to find information on?
