For those of us who always felt left out of the fun when groups would create their fantasy football teams, Fafarazzi will let us join in on the fun with its twist on what wins you points. Fafarazzi allows you to create a team of celebrities, and based on how many times their names are found throughout the various gossip blogs, you win points for your team. You can create a private league for just your friends, or you can belong to one of the public leagues. The site systematically drafts your team based on the people you selected to your draft pool. You can continuously change your team’s players to increase your point chances, which keeps you checking out how you’re doing and what is the current big news story so that you can add those celebs to your group. The team that ends up with the most points from the most press coverage wins.

“Fafarazzi.com works just like fantasy sports leagues - except instead of scores being tallied for homeruns and touchdowns, they're for catfights, divorces and baby bumps!”

It’s a fun way to keep up to date with the latest celebrity gossip. So many people check the latest celebrity news everyday anyway, so this makes it more fun and interactive. Because you can change who your celebrities are constantly, people will have incentive to check the site more to make sure they have the best team possible. The site is well designed and there’s a huge niche to take advantage of.

|
|
Will people continuously participate, or create their league once and be done with the site, since if you are joining a public league, drafts don’t occur sometimes till a few days after you’ve registered and created your pool?

| Fafa has been around town and has paved the way for other knock-offs such as TMZ's "new" celeb league. Thankfully, Fafarazzi is at least getting covered in the same articles as all of the TMZ hype. I can see them easily getting a flood of investors or, perhaps more likely, being picked up by a larger company such as Yahoo! that may be wishing to cash in on the new category. | ||
