eduFire is a great site for tutors and individuals who are looking to learn or improve their language skills. The core aspect of the site is the tutorial section. eduFire has tutors in many languages from Arabic to Portuguese. You can click on a language and a list of tutors appears. Each tutor has a profile, a photo, the cost per hour and the information on how many students they have. If you find a tutor that interests you, you can click on them and read the profile which has more in-depth information on their experience as well as testimonials. eduFire takes 15% of the tutorial session price. Besides being a great place to tutor and find tutors eduFire is a community. Each member has a profile and you can befriend other members. Tutors can get new teaching advice and learn new tips and teaching techniques. eduFire has lots of great language resources such as flashcards, videos, podcasts and more. eduFire has just added an instant messenger feature so you can see when your teachers are online. I just returned from Brazil and want to practice my Portuguese. eduFire has so many great resources to help me keep my Portuguese fresh. "We have a simple (but not easy) mission: Revolution education.
Our goal is to create a platform to allow live learning to take place over the Internet anytime from anywhere.
Most importantly...for anyone. We’re the first people (we know) to create something that’s totally open and community-driven (rather than closed and transaction-driven).
We’re excited to create tools for people to teach and learn what they love in ways they never imagined possible.
If changing the world is your thing and you’re as passionate about education and learning as we are, please get in touch."

eduFire.com has an attractive interface. eduFire.com has so many resources but they are easy to access. What is so great about eduFire.com is that there is the tutorial aspect along with a do it yourself resources section. eduFire.com is a site that wants to benefit and support the passion of language and it does so by offering many tools so that anyone can begin to learn. There are resources for the visual and audio learner. The community feel is also a great way for people with common interests to connect and become friends.

There are many sites dedicated to tutors how will eduFire.com deal with competition? Individuals interested in tutoring can freelance on sites such as Craigslist and receive their entire hourly wage. Will the 15% deduction discourage good tutors from joining the eduFire.com community?

| The modern look of eduFire combined with the stellar capacity to allow students and tutors to join virtually to study languages from all over the global via webcam hooked me in. I have enjoyed being a student and learning one-on-one with tutors who have native accents are reside in places such as France and India all from my California home. I also love the forums at eduFire where we can stay connected and learn how to broaden our views about the world bringing us closer to one. | ||

| I'm a student member on eduFire.com and found that this site is very useful in helping me re-learn Spanish for my marketing career in San Diego, Ca. I have engaged in the video tutoring which I find to be convenient and very educational; I get the one-on-one attention I need to be successful with language learning! As well, I have been using the flashcards to help build my vocabulary. The community is awesome; I'm meeting people from all over the world, learning about other cultures and brushing-up on my Spanish. | ||

| I am a member of eduFire.com and so far am very impressed with it overall. I am able to set up tutoring session in real time, and polish up my skills with flashcards, and videos. It is a great community as well, with forums where I can chat about language and culture, or in another language. This site is very interactive and engaging. It really allows for a certain degree of immersion without the expense! I love it and use it as a tool for my own education in language as well as my kids!!! | ||

| I have done several tutor sessions on Edufire.com to perfect my Spanish a bit more and so far it's been really great! I have gone to some of the competitor sites and they didn't seem as professional (ie people wanting to chat with you all the time, etc). Edufire is for real students and tutors to get together to learn. I really see a lot of potential. :) | ||

| I am a member of the eduFire community and have been very impressed with the growth of this new startup. The sites flashcards are really fun and a great way to kill a few minutes of time at work. The video learning platform is pretty good -- the picture is crisp with little audio lag. I know they plan on adding a lot of teacher tools, which in my opinion will take the site to another level. Definitely check it out if you're interested in learning a new language or meeting new people from around the world. | ||
