DoggySnaps.com - Facebook for Dog Lovers

    doggysnaps

This site is a Facebook for dog lovers. Make a profile “kennel” for your adorable pooch, with photos and stories of your lovable friend. Your pooch can even friend other pooches and have a social network. Your dog can receive messages and treats, like a Facebook poke, from other pooches. If you aren’t a dog owner but a dog lover, there is a great search engine that lets you look through all the pooch photos posted on the site. You can search for your favorite pooch by breed and others tags. For example search “pug” and “park” to get all the cutest photos of pugs in parks. Go to the features section of the page, to get the latest news; new members, the cutest dog of the week, etc. This site was founded by the UK charity Dogs Trust, which helps healthy dogs find good homes. There is a link which allows you to make a donation to the charity.

    In their own words

“DoggySnaps is owned and run by the UK-based registered charity, Dogs Trust. This amazing charity cares for over 14,000 stray and abandoned dogs a year through its network of 17 re-homing centers. At Dogs Trust no healthy dog is ever destroyed and they campaign tirelessly to ensure a better future for dogs everywhere.

As a thank you to all you dog lovers out there, Dogs Trust came up with a simple and fun way to upload, store and share your dog photos and called it DoggySnaps.

They've done all the hard work for you, uploading your pictures couldn't be easier. You will be given your own 'kennel' to store your photos in and you can browse through our entire photo album whenever you like.”

Why it might be a killer

This site will become an addiction of mine, since I am a dog lover. I have already spent many hours searching through all the pages of adorable pug photos. The site is easy to use and has lots of fun charts to rank the dogs, in fact I am thinking of making a kennel for my pug Princess! There is even a shopping section that benefits the Charity Dogs Trust.

    Some questions

DoggySnaps.com is a great site, but there are plenty of sites dedicated to displaying adorable photos of pooches. In fact there are many sites that have photos of a specific breed, which might be more appealing to a dog lover searching for photos of only one breed.
