DigFoot.com is a site that has cataloged networks from all over the web allowing you to search for a social network by language, or any of the many categories such as dating, fashion, food, etc.. You can search for other sites besides social networks such as directories and forums. DigFoot.com is a directory for social networks that lets you search and discover new social networks that you have never heard of.If you are interested in photography you can seach for a social network that focuses on sharing photographs, there is a huge list of social networks that allow you to share photos. If you find a site that interests you bookmark it so you can come back to it later. Or if your social network is not listed submit it and add to the list. Go and see what type of networks are out there with DigFoot.com

  In their own words

"Digfoot was founded by me (Bo Kjaer) when I, after a move from the US to Europe in 2006, became frustrated with the lack of integration and visibility across worldwide social networks. I have over the years lived in a number of countries and of course got to know a lot of friends at different locations.
I soon realized that it was something of a challenge to find old lost friends again once you ventured outside the US since local networks in for example Germany or Spain have very little crossover users with the major US centric networks such as LinkedIn, Friendster, Facebook etc. What I thought could be neat would be to have some kind of central place where all the social networks could be found and then use that as a starting point for branching out into other networks looking for those long lost friends and business connections.

Well, that was the initial idea that I started sketching out on my notepad and that later morphed into what you are looking at today - version 1.0 of Digfoot.com - which was launched in August 2007 and still is under hefty development so expect frequent improvements and updates."

Why it might be a killer

DigFoot.com lets you bookmark sites so you can come back to them later. If you find a social network interesting add it to your notepad so you can see it again later. The rating system also is helpful so you can see what users of the site think about it. The social network list on DigFoot.com will continue to grow because it allows you to submit your social network if it is not already on the list.

  Some questions

DigFoot.com does let you browse through many networks but some times the search is not filtered enough. For example, is you want a photography network, the search shows up with all networks that feature photos in general. Maybe there could be a more detailed filtering process. DigFoot.com has an extensive list of social networks, finding a long lost friend among them may be impossible.

We have since our launch in September been hard at work getting the site to where we always envisioned it to be, and just launched our newest version 3.0 today. We still have the social networks database as the central part of the site (now with over 2200 sites registered), but have also added the ability for members to create their own online social meta profiles with links to each members social networks – this was one reason why we needed a comprehensive database of social networks in the first place. A few highlights:- Our searchable social networks database now contains over 2200 social networks - all tagged with categories and network types – probably the largest database of its kind on the web with pure social networks.- Members can suggest new social sites, add descriptions, and leave comments and ratings for any site in the database.- Members have until now been able to set up a global network profile and email it to any friend with an email address. With the new release this week, member profiles are now also available online, giving anybody a good overview of a person's global social networking profile. For example (my profile): http://beta.digfoot.com/user/?m=15- We have introduced the concept of a "notepad" which is always visible in the upper left corner and which contains the member's profile, friends, favorites and saved social networks; making it easy to navigate the social networking landscape from one central location. We are continuing our development and strive to make digFoot.com the best and easiest-to-use meta network for the social networking world.Bo KjaerFounder, digFoot.com
