As we know, media distribution on the internet is at the point of morbid obesity, and coming in at a close second are the startups that claim to filter, manage and share them. Collectik.net gives you the opportunity to take the podcasts you already have, discover new content through friends with likeminds, and then make a mix of all of them. Remember in junior high when you gave your crush a mixed tape? This is kind of like that, except with podcasts. Use it for yourself or give it to that cutie in 6th period.

Collectik.net is a website that helps you manage, mix and share media (audio and video) on the net. It's like mixtapes for podcasts. Collectik is also community of audio lovers, and it helps you find great content from other Collectik users and Friends with similar tastes.<> It combines the power of social bookmark tools such as del.icio.us and digg, web-based RSS aggregators such as bloglines and netvibes, and podcast management software such as iTunes and Juice.<> But it's also an internet media mixtape maker: it gives you the power to create your own custom-built Playlists (available as RSS feeds and m3us) made of just what you want to listen to, and to make special Playlists for friends.

There are literally hundreds of tools sprawled out there on the web for podcasters to create, share or mix up their podcasts. Collectik.net seems to have a well designed suite of tools to upload and manage your podcasts and then make a playlist or “mix tape” out of them. I suppose their only point of difference is that they use the slogan “like a mix tape of podcast” which seems to be a kind of old school terminology that’s being applied to the new web.
