BookRix, a new site out of Germany, calls itself the net’s first ‘Bookunity’. Basically, it’s a publishing platform for unpublished writers to get published. Poems, novellas, short stories, and prose of all types can be designed and published in proper book format for friends, fans and families. Registered members/authors are given their very own profile space which can be customized to their preferences. Here, they can showcase their own works, write a blurb about themselves, and suggest books for others to read. The site includes other social features such as book groups and forums, writing competitions, and reviews. Members can browse through published works in the site’s library; niche sections include comics, manga, booklets and graphic novels. BookRix is also available in German.

BookRix is a well thought out publishing platform/community. New writers can publish their works in book format, designed as they wish easily on the site. They can also promote and distribute their literature to their network of friends. The format is flexible and well executed. It has potential.
