BlogPulse.com - For All Your Blog Research

    blogpulse

As a blogger or an interested consumer you may want to track the trends of blogs using certain terms. Nielsen, the same company that track television rankings, is giving the public the ability to use their technology to track whatever blog trends they wish to with a few mouse clicks. The site is very self explanatory and well laid out to eliminate confusion when using. BlogPulse can even give you the ablility to track the a conversation between two bloggers at different blogspots. Of course a site dedicated to tracking blogs has its own blog as well where people are discussing such topics as, "Should Bloggers Abide by a Code of Conduct?" and then goes on to show some examples of websites that have put into place a code of conduct and shows the results that they are getting.

    In their own words

Use the Trend search to create your own graphs that plot "buzz" about specific search terms (issues, people, companies, brands, sports, etc.) in the blogosphere. Choose from three different time parameters—one month, two months or six months. Be creative! BlogPulse Trends is the one-click answer to the simple question: "What's the buzz?" BlogPulse Trends identifies the topics and subjects that people are talking about in their blogs. Is it the latest political scandal? International struggle? A TV show? A new electronics gadget or computer operating system? A particular movie star or sports celebrity? A famous court case or a bizarre news story of the day? A trend graph displays the buzz generated by any given topic or the comparison of buzz across a set of topics.

Why it might be a killer

It is about time that a website came out allowing people to track a wide array of blogging statistics such as this. There are so many dedicated bloggers who had never had the opportunity to analyze the success of things that they have been doing the way that they will be able to analyze this now, and with the usage being free, it will surely get a ton of users.

    Some questions

The site is offering free usage of their services and there isnt any advertising on the site. How do they plan to make money?
