Calling all artists who are frustrated by the lack of avenues to reach studio executives- Artist N Artists is here. The web site is a platform for artists in the genres of film, music, and general art to showcase their work.

By providing a centralized online location, Artist N Artists seeks to be an intermediary between these creative types and companies in relevant industries to sign artists or buy work. Artists can also pitch executives directly through a mail system set up on Artist N Artists. Beyond this artist-industry link, Artist N Artists hopes to foster an environment for collaboration across art-film-music boundaries.

If Artist N Artists can secure meaningful industry support, this would be a major coup. Even barring this difficult feat, Artist N Artists has an interesting idea in its desire to create an environment of collaboration across artistic genres, which not only mutually benefits everyone in the community, but, if the site chooses to do so, would have that “cool factor” that advertisers love.

First and foremost, why is the name so complicated? It doesn’t particularly capture the site’s message of “The Artist to Industry Network.” Second, I wonder if by allowing anyone to join and to pitch material, industry executives will be turned off from participating in any meaningful way.
