In their own words
“Artimus Art is a modern company dedicated to the timeless values of family, creativity and sharing. Our company is located in Gloucester, Massachusetts, but really, we are situated in the hearts of everyone who has ever been wowed by a child’s natural creativity.
Founded in 2007 by mother-of-three, Dana Hostage, Artimus Art comes along to take the hassle out of preserving children’s artwork. For 17 years Dana was a flight attendant for a major airline, she knows a thing or two about time pressures, and making things easier for everyday people. She brings that experience, and the empathy of a busy parent, to Artimus Art.
Artimus is part web site, part publishing company. And 100% customer focused. The ‘big idea’ behind Artimus is combining the ease of ecommerce with the polish of premium digital publishing. All in an affordable, family-friendly package.
When you place an order with Artimus you don’t just get a great product at an affordable price, you enjoy the benefits of Web 2.0 style community. It’s all about sharing the treasures of kidart with those whom you most treasure: Your family and friends.”
Why it might be a killer
Artimusart.com has a fun, colorful interface that does a perfect job representing children’s art and creativity. The site is easy to navigate and has clear explanations of the sites functions. Artimus is a great idea because every parent cherishes their child’s drawings. It is great that Artimus offers two options for the book, this way the over ambitious parent can include all of their child’s drawings.
Some questions
Artimus could feature an events section that could give details on children’s art programs and classes. Artimus could also include information on childhood development and the importance of art and other creative activities. More educational information could be useful to the site’s community members.
