The Rather Difficult Font Game, is what is says-- a game involving fonts and it’s rather difficult. True, it’s a game for geeks and font freaks, but even for the non-sans-serif inclined, it ought to keep you entertained. It’s also a multiple choice test so you’re not left completely in the dark. Playing is easy, even if the typeface isn’t. Simply go to the site and choose from four font choices. You might want to brush up on your scala, andale mono and cronos pro beforehand. If you score well, however, you can actually make it to the rather impressive hall of fame. There are a total of thirty-four fonts to guess. Don’t be worry, they’re not all obscure fonts you’ve never head of. Times new roman is part of the game too.

“By looking at type set in Rosewood you probably don’t have to second-guess yourself, but if your life depended on you making the distinction between Adobe Caslon Pro and Adobe Garamond Pro, then, things would be a whole lot different. Try it a couple of times if you don’t get it right the first time — you might catch a lucky break.”

The Rather Difficult Font Game is rather good fun. It may be hard for non-designrs or font aficionados, but it’s still fun to try. And it’s available for play on the iPhone.
