Tradingurus.com - The Social Site for Traders

The stock market is complicated and demands that serious users constantly educate themselves. Tradingurus hopes to be a vital resource for entry-level (or professional) players to keep up on stock market trends and to dish and receive advice. The site specifically points to the new trend of employees needing to participate in the stock market to receive employer participation in their retirement plan. The site therefore has a series of forums to ask questions, pick stocks, learn vocabulary, read relevant news updates, and access company information. They also have a handful of thoughtful and well-written blogs that bring to light things that the media might not highlight.

  In their own words

“At tradingurus.com we are trying to create an environment where you can learn from the successes and errors of others, where the focus is on bettering ourselves with views to a better and freer retirement.”

Why it might be a killer

Tradingurus offers insight that you would be hard-pressed to find on other sites or books. In comparison to other sites, they share semi-complicated stock information (ie, they don’t hold back because you aren’t a professional trader) but there are all the tools at your disposal to understand what they are saying. In comparison to a book, they are able to keep information current and relevant to the consumer.

  Some questions

What is with the design of the site? The home page is cluttered and difficult to understand, and overall it looks like an underground technology forum rather than a community that solicits serious advertising. Also, at the moment there is very little participation in the forums- this will have to be expanded to be useful to new users.
