MyStarbucksIdea.com - Starbucks Wants Your Two Cents

If you’ve ever found yourself frustrated by the lack or free wi-fi at Starbucks, or annoyed that the mini vanilla scones consistently run out by noon (or is that just me?), now is your chance to give Starbucks your two cents – or a piece of your mind. The coffee mega-chain is looking to make improvements, and at MyStarbucksIdea.com, the company is turning directly to its customers to ask for their input. Anyone can browse the site to see what’s been suggested and to read up on what changes Starbucks has in development. Registered users can submit their own ideas or vote and comment on others. The “Ideas in Action” blog will keep visitors updated on what Starbucks is doing with the ideas submitted on MyStarbucksIdea.com.

  In their own words

“What would make your Starbucks experience perfect? We know you’ve got ideas—big ideas, little ideas, maybe even totally revolutionary ideas—and we want to hear them all. That’s why we created My Starbucks Idea. So you can share the ideas that matter to you and you can find out how we’re putting those ideas to work. Together, we will shape the future of Starbucks.”

Why it might be a killer

(Most) people like coffee. (Some) people like Starbucks. Here is a major corporation turning directly to its customers to openly ask for advice and ideas on how to improve its services. This could be a great way to make consumers feel more connected to the coffee chain, and as some of the changes are really implemented, it may improve Starbucks’ public image. MyStarbucksIdea.com links directly to Starbucks.com, where you can purchase products or gift cards, so some of the traffic coming to My Starbucks Idea to suggest improvements might trickle down to the corporate site and help sales there.

  Some questions

Why aren’t they offering some sort of reward or prizes as an incentive for customers to submit and vote on ideas? Even a chance at a free cup of coffee could certainly increase the numbers getting involved on this site.

Dear Starbucks Mgmt,I have been a loyal customer for over 4 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about your coffee ( Venti White Chocolate Mocha) as well as your buisness. I live in Dayton, Texas and the closest store to my area is about 25 minutes away, and is out of my way. I was wanting to suggest maybe having one of your establisments in Dayton, there is a new building for sale on Hwy 90 east just built beside a new Best Western hotel in the same parking lot. The building already is equipped with plenty of parking and a drive thru window and has plenty of space to accomodate your buisness and its valued customers. We have many donut shops in Dayton but no coffee shops, and many of the people are like me and want a starbucks drink before work and going to school.Thankyou for considering my thoughts!!Matt
