In their own words
"ModalBox is a JavaScript technique for creating modern (Web 2.0-style) modal dialogs or even wizards (sequences of dialogs) without using conventional popups and page reloads. It's inspired by Mac OS X modal dialogs. And yes, it may also be useful for showing bigger versions of images. :)
ModalBox is built with pure JavaScript and is based on Sam Stephenson's excellent Prototype JavaScript Framework, script.aculo.us and valid XHTML/CSS. ModalBox uses AJAX to load content."
Why it might be a killer
ModalBox has a lot of useful features such as the scrolling mode and automatic height adjustment. It also works in almost all modern browsers. It is always key to have a demo version readily available on the site so that unsure users can take it for a test drive. ModalBox can also be used for showing bigger version of images not just for making wizards and popups.
Some questions
The http://www.wildbit.com/labs/modalbox/ page leaves a lot to be desired. Besides a downloading link, a list of features, and a bunch of JavaScript there isn't much else on the site. There should be a FAQ section and more detailed descriptions about the features. A forum would also be a great addition to the page so people can discuss any issues or concern they have with ModalBox. The site could be a bit more attractive and colorful as well.
