WhoToTalkTo.com - You Give Some You Get Some (Jobs)

    whototalkto

Unless you know someone who knows someone, or you've got a trust fund up your sleeve, or you're blog/YouTube skills are phenomenal, then finding a job isn't a piece of cake. Ask anyone just out of college. The job market isn't what it used to be and the perks they had for yesteryear's class are going the way of the cassette tape. So how do you find your dream job? For starters, you might want to try WhoToTalkTo, a site for job referrals and lead exchange. Forget, job boards, you land the job through word of mouth and referrals. WhoToTalkTo facilitates the process by having users post job referrals to gain access to the site. The site, in turn, offers a bevvy of job referrals from other users. However, there's a catch. It's a points based system, so in order to inquire about one or more referalls, you have to have the points. You get points by posting more referalls and by having respondants to those referalls. The system is free as long as you're willing to work it.

    In their own words

"Whototalkto is about job seekers helping other job seekers. You can post up to 5 job referrals at a time, and can share each job referral multiple times. Every time you actually share the referral information with another user, you receive another point from that user. Thus, it benefits you to share as many job referrals as you are comfortable with."

Why it might be a killer

WhoToTalkTo is a great alternative to job boards who don't produce results. Word of mouth and referalls truly work. In this case, if you're willing to give you reap the rewards.

    Some questions

Will users take advantage of this quid pro quo model? What about users who don't have many referalls per se? Will this work?
