    WhenGuard.com - Store Time-Sensitive Content For Later

If you’re the type of person that likes to accomplish tasks ahead of time so you don’t have to revisit them later, a new web app called WhenGuard may be of use to you. This simple app lets you enter in a link to your content which will only be displayed to your distribution list at a certain future time which you specify.

For example, say you want to create an invitation to your birthday party today, but you don’t want the information to be made available to your guests for two weeks from the day you create the invite in case you need to make any time/location changes. You would enter in the link to the invitation on WhenGuard, and it will generate a “Just In Time” link (called a “jitlink”) for you. You’ll specify a date and time for your content to be revealed. Optionally, you can also specify a “hide” time if you want the content to be closed for viewing at a later date. Once you email the jitlink to your friends, they will only be able to access your content once your specified date and time has arrived; until then, they’ll receive a message asking them to come back later.

    Whenguard.com In their own words

“WhenGuard is a simple Web service for delayed publication of time-sensitive content. It's like a safe deposit vault for content that opens only for a certain time”.

Why Whenguard.com might be a killer

WhenGuard is a good tool for time-sensitive content that allows you to be more flexible in terms of when you create something that you only want to be made available to the public in the future. WhenGuard also works with RSS feeds, so if the content in question is, say, a new entry on your blog, the application will work for that as well.

    Some questions about Whenguard.com

Why can’t WhenGuard let your distribution list know exactly when the content will be made available instead of asking them to simply “come back later”? That could become tedious. Also, why can’t you enter in email addresses directly on the WhenGuard site? It would be easier than cutting and pasting the url and emailing it across your email client.
