Ever had to deal with the frustration of wanting to send a big file through the web only to find that it was too large to be attached? Well, now that is a thing of the past thanks to solutions like Whale Mail.
The approach at play is not really that dissimilar from several startups we have already reviewed here on Killer Startups such as 2big2send et al. What these services do is allow the user to send big files using simply a web browser. The process for doing so has by now become standarized: you log in, upload the file in question and key in the e-mail address you want to send that file to.
Once you send a message via Whale Mail, an e-mail notification is sent to the recipient or recipients supplying them with a link to the file you attached. The recipient can then download the file in the most direct way, without having to deal with download assistant applications of any kind.
