In their own words
“WallHogs is changing the way people decorate their homes, offices, garages, et al. In the old days, people would put up prints, paintings, wallpaper, and paint. This entailed nails, glue, hammers, brushes, tarps, and, worst of all, too much manual labor :-( And once you made a change it was like nearly permanent. So we fixed that for you. Now you can take any digital image and create vinyl prints that can be placed on your walls or ceilings, removed, placed elsewhere, stored, placed again, etc - all without harming your wall surfaces or paint. You can even cut out sections of your pictures (like removing a person from their environment) and place only them on your walls.”
Why it might be a killer
Home decorating made easy and personal. No doubt the site will attract customers with an inkling of artistic intention, who want to do up their mise en scene their way, with an absolute no fuss ease.
Some questions
Did I hear someone say Kinko"s? Basically, this is a giant sticker, a huge trend, I a do not foresee.
But then again, as Wallhog themselves asks the question:“Will there be traffic?”, responding, “ Yes. We have licensed Gwen Stefani, NIN, Social D, Offspring, and many others - their fans will be driven to wallhogs. Also we scored a great deal with www.qoop.com and will be part of their offering to facebook, flickr, photobucket, et al .” Licensed Gwennie Hanna and Nine Inch Nails? Pop star overload notwithstanding, any mall worth its salt has a poster store with, yes, pop idols and movie stars. Nothing very new there.
