Vivaty.com - Virtual World in a Web App

Joining the slew of web-based virtual communities out there is Vivaty, a new application for AIM and Facebook which has just been released in beta mode. The basic concept behind Vivaty is that you can create a virtual “scene” which you can personalize with standard avatars and hundreds of different objects and subsequently interact with friends on Facebook and AIM. For example, you might choose to have a beach scene and add your own cabana to it, then install a virtual TV and upload a video from YouTube to be displayed on it. Upon installing the application, you’ll be prompted to personalize your avatar choosing from among a variety of different appearance options. You can move your avatar around the scene and use the keyboard to navigate, indicate emotion, and gesture. Apart from the simple gestures, you can also communicate with your friends via Vivaty’s chat and message services. Currently, Vivaty only works for Windows Explorer users.

Does Vivaty plan on releasing another version for Firefox, Safari, and other popular web browsers?
