Twitterlights is an addition to the latest version of i-Lighter, a program that allows you to highlight and automatically save anything you want on any page on the Internet. With Twitterlights, you can easily share whatever you have highlighted with your Twitter friends.

You must download the free i-Lighter software to your PC. Then, just i-Light your selection, click “Twitter This,” enter your Twitter name and password, and press send. You can include a Twitter message of up to 140 characters, and the web content you selected will be attached as a TinyURL. Since your highlights are also stored to your web-based i-Lighter account, you can access them later from anywhere.

Piggybacking on the increasing popularity of a site like Twitter is always a good strategy. Since Twitterlights can be used to share content from any type of website, it could be used not only for fun but also for educational or professional means, such as Twittering about an important news story or stock quote.

Could the Twitterlights homepage be expanded to include some screenshots or an interactive demonstration? As a potential user, I would have liked to have a better idea how the program works before choosing to download it. Will some potential users be lost for this reason? Also, will a Mac version be released? i-Lighter currently supports both Explorer and Firefox, but your PC must be running Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro.
