TwitterIM is an easy messaging tool that lets you send tweets through your favorite chat clients: MSN or ICQ. To use it, add msn@twittermsn.com or TwitterIM to your contact list and voila, you’re set to twitter to your heart’s content. TwitterIM automatically replaces your links with TinyURL and you can even send your tweets when Twitter itself is down. It also allows you to create longer tweets, if you’re feeling slightly verbose. The service strips your automessages and it comes with a unique email address allowing users to send tweets via email. By sending ‘friends’ to your bot you’ll get the 20 latest tweets from your friends; if you send ‘replies’ you’ll receive your 20 last replies.

As Twitter only supports GoogleTalk, Jabber and Live Journal messaging, this is a welcome newcomer. It expands Twitter’s capabilities making sure that practically everyone will be able to send their tweets any way they like. Easy to use too.
